Turn Overwhelm into Opportunity
✈️ To move or Not to move to a country? 🛄 To change or Not to change my job?
🤯 Sounds like voices in your head?
As a knowledge immigrant, I have had these voices in my head ever present and loud. After spending a decade away from home country and now coaching fellow knowledge immigrants , I found that applying the framework from Co-Active Training Institute can provide clarity in decision making process.
As a Co-Active Coach ,myself, I design my alliance with my clients and we look at these dimensions of their lived experience:
The Four Dimensions of Lived Experience:
Intrapersonal: Me with myself. What is my direct experience of my vision, values, personal growth and saboteurs?
Interpersonal- Me with others. How am I affected by relationships with others and in turn what is my impact on them?
Systemic- How am I impacted by the different systems of which I am a part: family, friends, neighbours , work, city, country?
Structural/Institutional- How do structures inform and shape how life is lived: laws, policies, regulations? There is often some overlap between the systemic and structural dimensions.
Having a structure to such life-changing decisions has helped me immensely.
I have often engaged with a thinking partner such as a coach to navigate such choices to avoid biases and assumptions.
